
For our second outdoor climbing trip together, the Dinosaur took me to the Gunks, a beautiful miles-long quartzite conglomerate cliff band in upstate New York. Gear can be notoriously hard to clean at the Gunks, since each piece wiggles its way behind and between pebbles in the rock after it’s been placed.
